UNESCO Declared Mura River Biosphere Reserve

At the annual conference of the UNESCO programme “Man and the Biosphere” on Wednesday, 25 July, the Mura River Biosphere Reserve was declared. Although this title puts it on a par with the other 685 important natural biosphere reserves worldwide, it is the first reserve to span five countries. We bear Mura’s name with pride as it has always played a crucial role not only for plants and animals but for the surrounding residents as well. We are aware that a respectful attitude towards the environment is key for future generations, and we have already started implementing various environmentally friendly measures upon which we intend to expand in the future. Take the time to admire the new Mura River Biosphere Reserve; but if you bring some snacks with you, make sure you know where the rubbish belongs: separate recycling bins ?
