Zbrinc

Specifications

Zbrinc is a hard cheese made from heat-treated milk to which lactic acid bacteria are added. Teh flavour is aromatic and piquant  - the result of special preparation of the milk and the ripening period. The cheese is made in round loaves weighing 8 to 9 kg and ripens for at least four months. The dry firm crust is of a yellow to brownish colour. The interior is yellowish, firm, without holes and suitable for grating. The piquant flavour and aroma are pronounced if the cheese is kept in a sealed container in the fridge. Should be left at room temperature for at least half an hour before serving.
